The crown jewels of Estonian music, works by Veljo Tormis will be performed by the Holst Singers, one of Britain’s foremost choirs, described by the BBC as “a leading chorus on the international stage”. Conducted by Stephen Layton, in the presence of the composer. Ticket includes a glass of wine after the concert and a chance to meet the performers and the composer.
Following the concert in June, the Holst Singers and Stephen Layton will be making a recording of the programme on Hyperion, for a scheduled release in late 2007 or early 2008.
